In this article we take a closer look at everything related to professional bike fitting and answer common questions.
What is a professional bike fitting?
With a professional bike fitting we try to measure the ultimate cycling position, based on optimizing the comfort on the bike with the aim of achieving performance and fun during (long) ) to improve cycling trips.
Of course there are a lot of basic principles that you can use as a tool to measure yourself in a good position. Still, the biggest pitfall is working with standardized, one-size-fits-all values. For example, determining the ‘inseam length’ to determine a frame size is a good guideline, but anything but the gold standard. It goes without saying that two individuals with the same inseam length do not always have the same flexibility, torso length, arm length, … and will therefore also benefit from a different frame or positioning on the bicycle.
The professional bike fit of FysioLab is performed by one of our experienced physiotherapist bike fitters. We take the time to get an initial picture of the rider in question during an interview and an individual physical inspection. Recreational or top athlete, every body has its strengths and weaknesses, which will influence the position on the bike.
